What is the Use of the Ovex Tablets?

Ovex Tablets Family Pack is a medicine used to treat intestinal pinworm infections (sometimes known as pinworms). The tablets contain mebendazole, which belongs to a group of medicines called “anthelmintics.” This medication is for use in adults and children over 2 years of Age.

At what Age can you take Ovex Worm Tablets?

Seizures have been reported very rarely in children, including infants under one year of Age, during post-marketing experience with Ovex (see section 4.8). Ovex Worm tablets have yet to be studied extensively in children under 2 years of Age. Ovex family pack – 4 tablets should only be given to very young children if worm infestation significantly interferes with their nutritional status and physical development.  Therefore, (ovex worming tablets, asda ovex tablets, ovex single tablet, ovex tablet) Ovex family pack – 4 tablets should be used in children 1 to 2 years of Age only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk. Due to the lack of adequate safety data, the Ovex family pack 4 tablets should not be used in children under 1 year of Age.

Are Ovex Family Pack 4 Tablets Safe for Pregnancy?

By following stringent hygiene precautions to get rid of threadworms, pregnant women may be able to avoid taking medication to treat them. Kindly refer to the NHS’s threadworm information for more information on these preventative measures. Mebendazole (Vermox®, Ovex®) can be used to treat threadworms if maintaining good hygiene is not enough or if medication is preferred.
